Low Cost Sensors

Postby kimir on Thu Jan 24, 2008 8:58 am

I was just going to recommend using an optical mice as proximity sensors. They are really cheap and you can get them on ebay! They work just like laser sensors . Just an LED and a CCD circuit...

Anyone else used these?

I have to say no but nice idea!
I'm not sure the sensors from a laser mouse would work for a *moving* object. There's too much going on that could generate false positives and false negatives for proximity.
