coded receive/transmit

i am looking for a solution for a short range coded/codeable transmitter/receiver within the range of 50-100m. just a simple send/receive module with receiver telling of signal/no signal by visual/audible display or where i can go about getting components to self build/program, any help gratefully received peeps.
